The Introduction of 4G this Year

By Beau Harrold

The telecommunications industry has been evolving rapidly in the past few years due to a high demand of better quality web browsing. 3G or third generation mobile phone technology, was known to be amongst the best technology upgrades because it presented the idea of having very fast broadband with Wifi. Once more, technology is going to take another leap forward with the next. Many people are now awaiting the arrival of the much anticipated 4G in 2013.

News of this technological breakthrough has been spreading really fast even when it was in its early stages. Now, a number of countries have been attempting to get their hands on this development so that they can meet the growing demands of their consumers. Even though many are rushing to acquire this next generation technology, the UK seems to be doing things slowly by trying to perfect it first so that it is less susceptible to flaws.

As expected, the speed of the broadband connection will go up which means quicker downloads, faster uploads, and much quicker browsing for everyone. Also, with the new advancement in broadband connection, one might now be able to watch movies online in high definition without slowing down the connection. Gone are the times where we would have to wait long hours for the movie to load.

Certainly the strength of the connection will also become stronger as well. Normally, if one were to connect to the internet through Wifi, one would have to be at furthest ten miles away from it. With the new 4G technology, the signal may reach even approximately three miles or more.

Security is another problem that has been resolved by the brand new technological developments of 4G. Normally, when one connects to the internet of another person via Wifi, one is in danger of having their personal information stolen. The new 4G protects these users from possible data theft.

4G is made to be so powerful that it can even endure bad weather. It is an everyday problem that the internet connection is slow during storms and such. Nevertheless, with this advancement, bad weather will not be an issue.

One can clearly see that the future is rosy for the next generation of technological developments in telecommunications. A very interesting thing to know before the official adaption of 4G is that the US and the UK do not use the same operators. The issue with having different operators is that there are in the US version that the UK version does not have and vice versa. In the UK, the operator for 4G is LTE while in the United States, it is Wimax. The only difference between them is that LTE has more choices to limit bandwidth than Wimax.

Do take note that the official release date is not stated so everyone should just patiently wait for any further notifications. The only sure thing is that people should be using 4G in 2013. So simply wait a little while longer as one of the major technological advancements is coming soon.
